Events and Experiences
How long are experiences?
Each experience is designed to create a safe and inviting environment for you and the artist. As such, run times for each event vary. Generally, you can expect a performance to run between 60 and 120 minutes. We highly recommend allowing extra time to account for parking, concessions, ingress, and egress from the venue.
What accessible seating options are available?
Accessible seating and seating for the hearing- and sight-impaired are available in the Orchestra section through Ticketmaster and the Arizona Arts Box Office. Assistive listening devices are available on a first come first served basis in the lobby of the theater.
Service animals must be tethered at all times, and must rest in the seating area with a handler that is appropriate for the animal’s size, not in the aisles. Because our seating area has narrow rows, we ask that patrons inform us before bringing a service animal to our venue(s), so that we may reserve the best area for both patron and animal. Please contact our team at (520) 621-3341 for more information.
What time should I arrive?
In general, we ask guests to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of their selected performance. Some experiences do not offer late seating. Start times are noted on the ticket.
Late patrons may be held in the lobby until an approved break in the event. On rare occasions, this may be as late as intermission. Please allow ample time to park and pick up tickets at will call prior to the event’s start time.
When should I clap?
Arizona Arts Live programming is specifically designed to welcome the unexpected to Tucson. You might feel awe and wonder, you might laugh or cry, you might get angry or frustrated, you might be proud or thankful.
Whatever the emotion, we’ll provide an experience that will invite you to feel. You are welcome to clap at any of our performances. We only ask you to respect the artist, their performance, and other guests in attendance.
Are bags and backpacks allowed?
To create a safe, enjoyable experience for all our guests, Arizona Arts Live and Centennial Hall have implemented the following security policies:
- Anyone entering premises is subject to a search of personal belongings, including but not limited to inspection of bags, purses, strollers, coats, hats, and wheelchairs.
- At Centennial Hall and select other venues, bags larger than than 12” x 6” x 12” are not permitted.
- Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection, including but not limited to oxygen tanks, diabetes kits, allergy pens, etc.
- Arizona Arts Live staff will not safeguard any personal belongings or items of any type.
What items are prohibited?
All persons are subject to Arizona Board of Regents and University of Arizona rules and regulations, and the laws of the State of Arizona. The University may revoke the ticket license and eject or refuse entry to persons for violation of these rules, regulations, and laws, disruptive behavior, illegal activity, or other misconduct. All patrons and their belongings are subject to search upon entering Centennial Hall and/or venues co-promoting experiences with Arizona Arts Live. By entering the venue, you consent to such screenings which may include bag checks and the use of metal detectors.
The following items are prohibited: Bags larger than 12” x 6” x 12”; backpacks; knives; weapons of any kind, including but not limited to firearms (permitted or not); video and audio recorders; professional quality camera equipment; selfie sticks/poles; glass or metal containers; coolers; any outside food or drink, however, medically necessary items will be permitted after proper inspection; illegal drugs or substances; folding chairs, seat backs, or seat cushions; long golf umbrellas; laser pointers; fireworks; noisemakers or horns; signs, posters, banners, balloons and flags; personal transportation device (i.e. skateboard, bicycle, hoverboard, etc.) that is not required due to disability; parcels, packages, and any items the contents of which are not displayed. Staff cannot accept gifts of any kind for the entertainer(s). Is there a dress code to attend a performance?
No! All are welcome to enjoy our experiences, events, and art installations.
Is re-entry to a performance available?
Yes! Guests must have their ‘ticket’ EXIT Scanned on their way out and must go through the security check again upon entry. When they get to the doors, they will need to have their mobile ticket ready for a re-entry scan.
Are concessions available?
Concessions are available at select Arizona Arts Live and Centennial Hall performances. Co-promoted experiences in venues off the University of Arizona’s Main Campus, including the Rialto Theatre and Hotel Congress, may provide concessions as well.
Can I bring food to the venue?
Outside food and beverages are prohibited from entry into our venues.
Are there dining options nearby?
Yes! Most of our experiences on campus are within walking distance of dining options in Main Gate Square and the Student Union at the University of Arizona.
Parking and Transportation
Where can I park?
At Arizona Arts Live, we believe Southern Arizona is our stage. As such, venue location and parking vary according to the performance. For events in Centennial Hall, we recommend parking in Tyndall Avenue Garage, a short walk from Centennial Hall.
For events in the Arizona Arts District, we recommend parking in Park Avenue Garage. On-street parking may also be available in the neighborhood. For events in Downtown Tucson, including the Rialto Theatre and Hotel Congress, Park Tucson offers more than 3,000 covered spaces in parking garages and almost 1,000 spaces in surface lots. Please visit the City of Tucson for more information.
Is transportation available to the venue?
Free, convenient shuttles to transport patrons may be available for select performances in Centennial Hall. Pickup is located on the ground floor east of Tyndall Avenue Garage 1 hour before the performance. More information about shuttle transportation is available in the “Important Info” email sent to all ticket holders before the performance.
