6:30 PM • 8:30 PM
Experience the sophisticated heat of Latin jazz as virtuoso pianist Irving Flores brings his acclaimed Afro-Cuban Jazz Trio to The Century Room.
Born in Veracruz, Mexico, Flores began his music studies at age 6 with organ. His father, Irving Flores Sr., was with the famed Orchestra Tampico, and it was from him that young Irving began to learn saxophone and arranging. While a teenager, Irving moved to Mexico City, switched to piano developing as a composer and arranger. Audiences will be treated to vibrant, original compositions from his award-winning album, Armando Mi Conga, alongside an exclusive preview of original material from his highly anticipated upcoming release, A Letter to Eddie Palmieri.
A master arranger and composer, Flores anchors this performance with the exceptional talent of renowned bassist Rene Camacho in the rhythm section. In the true spirit of The Century Room’s intimate, world-class listening environment, this evening highlights the incredible artistry, spontaneous energy, and rhythmic brilliance of a true jazz master at the top of his craft. Presented live for one night only at The Century Room.
